Seeds for a classroom art project Watercolor and leaves.

Hi I’m Season an artist looking for different ways to…put art in the world.. to share creativity and beauty.. to connect with others on the strange and beautiful of the world. And hopping to pay the bills with my passion.

I’ve been working with a couple teachers at my kids schools. Offered to come in and teach some art projects. a few have gone extreamly well and a couple were flops. But all were fun for the kids. I keep getting caught up in the objective and I think the objective could be as simple as. Helping children see that they are capable of making something cool interesting beautiful.

I came across a video a few days ago that I thought could be interesting. This Art teacher did a project for spring but I thought it could work for fall as well. You do a wash of watercolor pant thick with water. Then take a bunch of leaves, clovers, needles, grass, anything you can find on a nature walk. The woman used flowers and leaves. You press the plant life into the wet paint then paint over the back of them. Let dry and peel them off. When you peel them off the shape of the leaf is left behind like a stamp. This could be left as just an art print or folded and stapled into a journal! I’m going to make a sample and see what the teachers think.

I’ll let you know how it goes.
